Project Bedroom!

I decided it was time to finally start a few things in this sadly neglected room of ours.

Some typeography art for above the bed kind of freshened up the place to start...

then, I decided to tackle the bedside tables!

*fun fact: i bought these when I was 16 at Ikea with my mom, they were pine, and like $15 each.

I then proceeded to stain them orange for some reason. My parents just shrugged and probably were relieved that

I'd rather paint furniture in the backyard instead of getting drunk behind London Drugs. That came later. HA

Getting there! The room was too messy for a full shot, but baby steps people, baby steps.

Today was errand day! I managed to work in the morning, go to a dentist appointment, come home, work for an hour, then walk down the street with my cat in a carrier to her vet appointment, then come home, work some more.

Then I napped. HARD. While watching Storage Wars, which BTW is my favorite guilty pleasure show. Oh.. aside from Teen Mom and Jersey Shore of course. I'm classy like that.

And then it was Thursday! This week is flying by! Only 8 days till California!

Random Awesomeness: Every Saturday until October, there is a farmers market across the STREET FROM MY HOUSE.. ehfdufejhgfuwerjf!!!!
Last week we walked over and I got local berries, peas, organic sourdough bread, homemade cookies, ate tacos and had agave sweetened lemonade. Hippie deliciousness!
Every week the vendors will rotate so I'm excited to check it out again!

IM IN APARTMENT THERAPY!!!!!!!!!!

I'M KIND OF freaking out. I never thought my apartment would get featured. WTF!
So cool!!!!!!

This morning, on my third to last day of "stay-cation" I woke up, walked into the hallway, rubbed my eyes and decided to paint the font door. No second guessing when I plow into a project. This girl just goes.

Wanna know what remains on my kind of lame "stay-cation" bucket list?

-Get a Library Card, and load up on books.
-Buy Husband some non-ugly shorts - DONE
-Buy a new sports bra for running - DONE
-Go to Richmond Centre because you have been there in years - DONE
-Go have lunch with husband on his break
-Go lay in the park across the street with some library books and get a tan (weather permitting!)

that's it! Our real vacation starts later in August when we fly down to LA, rent a car and visit some friends, and drive up the coast to visit Billy's dad and hit up some sweet food joints a la Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives

And yes...I'm aware that I paint EVERYTHING various shades of turquoise. Maybe Turquoise should stop looking so damn good, so I can move on to another color.

I need more books to stack in it. It matches our bedspread, which was absolutely intentional.

Today we said goodbye to our little minnie. after 17 years of watching my brother and I grow up, move out of the house and still come back for sunday dinners, she will be dearly missed on those days.

She was my very first kitten, she had a scratchy meow, and we adored her. <3

I hope my mom can relax now, knowing she is not in pain and not having to face the stress of worrying about her anymore. While the loss of a sick pet is always painful, I understand and lived through the strange relief that comes with it when it's over.

vancouver had its own therapy session all over the boarded up storefronts. it was heartbreaking but so healing to read the messages written.

and on another note I might as well add some photos because its been a while!


I inherited some vintage circus posters from my aunt who is downsizing. They have been in the family for years. I love them!
